Manufacturing Minutes
|Lewis Digweed

This post has been compiled across many different moments of the month. Following on from the previous post and the iterations required from our samples, we have decided that keep the manufacturing processes as close to home as possible. Not only allowing me to visit to see first hand the processes as well as being able to cut the times for delivery and approving iterations of design but also controlling and maintaining the highest standard level of garment manufacturing. Ultimately we wont be cutting corners through manufacturers in Asia and instead utilising the best manufacturers in Portugal and The UK itself. This will be reflective in the Price point that we sell garments at and understand that not everyone will want to spend a substantial amount of money on clothes that they can get elsewhere, but I assure you the quality wont be beaten. We aim to build a wardrobe that you will want to wear year on year and will not compromise on the quality we present to the market.

We have visited some factories in the UK this month which has been a massive eye opener to the process of whats possible within garment manufacturing. You will be soon to see a product that is fresh off of the production line, inspired from a handwritten note I wrote when writing a brand statement, infused by quotes I lean on for inspiration. The Sample Script Long Sleeve includes a imperfect nature design utilising garment dyeing and washing, it epitomises the process we are going through of learning this whole new industry within the design and think its fitting to be a starter piece.

Another concept I have really been thinking about for the future is activations. Many growing and success showing brands on socials utilise activations to promote new products and releases as well as celebrations for milestones however I feel like theres something missing to them. Many of the attendees are invited due to their presence on social media and the attention they bring (which Is understandable for marketing purposes). I however have thought of introducing a product concept to include and reward our most supportive customers, this is very much just a concept at this point as we are years and years off from being able to hopefully do these however, we have introduced a new reward points system across our selling outlets.

The new Remi Rewards points system we are trialling rewards our customers through a handful of tasks as well as through purchasing. Through following signing up for an account and Sharing/Following our socials to referring friends there is a reward for all, this can be further explored by clicking the rewards button in the bottom half of your screen and clicking through all the different sections. Again this concept is very new and something we would like to keep in order to reward you for supporting and being a part of the Brand, in time this will be developed out further so keep an eye out.

To conclude this month, today (27th Nov) comes with the release of a limited amount of caps. This drops on my birthday which I think is a bit of a fitting way to begin this journey. Here's to many more. As a final note, we will have Behind the Scenes DIY style Videos dropping on YouTube so keep an eye out for them.

Cheers
